  • Works on iPhone and Android, with no app store.
  • Every punch is in Toronto time and kept in Canada.
  • Got an invite link? Open it on your phone to join your team.

Who’s in right now

The admin’s Today screen fills itself as people clock in. Anyone with no response leads the list, and their phone gets a nudge. Open a row to see where they clocked in.

What it does

Everything an admin and a crew need from a time clock, and the parts a wall clock never had.

  • Clock in with a selfieOne tap takes a selfie, the location and the time from TimeStaff’s clock, not the phone’s.
  • Check where they clocked in
  • Fix a missed clock-out
  • Close forgotten shifts
  • Approve leave
  • Export paid hours
  • Remind before shifts
  • Invite people by link

First, a nudge
before the shift

TimeStaff8:45 AM

Shift starts at 9:00 AM

Open TimeStaff to clock in when you arrive.

15 minutes before every shift. If nobody clocks in by 9:30 AM, the employee is nudged again and admins are told.

Paid hours, counted
the same way

Get TimeStaff

Change any time on an open day. Over 5 hours loses a 30-minute unpaid break, 12 hours or more loses an hour, and a shift left open closes itself after 15 hours.

Do employees have to download an app?

No app store. They open their invite link on their phone, sign in with Google and add TimeStaff to the Home Screen. It then opens like any other app and can send shift reminders.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. On iPhone, add TimeStaff to the Home Screen from Safari first. That is what lets it send notifications, and it stays signed in until the person signs out.

What if there is no GPS signal indoors?

TimeStaff tries a precise GPS fix first, then the phone’s Wi-Fi and network location, and records how accurate the fix was. If location is switched off, the employee is told how to turn it on before taking the selfie.

Can someone fake the time by changing their phone’s clock?

No. The punch uses TimeStaff’s clock. A phone that is off by a few minutes is corrected, and the employee is told their clock is wrong.

Someone forgot to clock out. Can I fix it?

Yes, on that day and the day after; the original time stays on the record. After that the day is permanent, so reports never change. A shift left open for 15 hours closes itself.

How is the unpaid break worked out?

A shift over 5 hours loses 30 minutes; a shift of 12 hours or more loses an hour. The clocked time is kept as it was, and the break is shown separately in reports.

Where is our data kept?

In Toronto, Canada. Each company’s people, attendance and reports are kept apart, and everyone only ever sees their own company.

We run more than one company. Does that work?

Yes. Each company has its own admins, employees and reports. Each person belongs to one company.

How do we get started?

Email us your company’s name. We create your company and send you the link that makes you its first admin; you then invite your team with links of your own.
